Rowallan Guest House, was built in 1880 as a Gentleman’s Residence. It originally included stables, a tennis court and an orchard but know it just sits in pretty secluded gardens with plenty of on site parking.

Previously a boutique hotel Rowallan Guest House now offers friendly, intimate, bed and breakfast accommodation in Newton Stewart for holiday or longer stay visitors. All rooms are en-suite and are a mix of full bathrooms with shower over bath or walk in showers. We are in the process of renovating and up grading all the bedrooms.

Retaining many of its original features including beautiful ornate moulded ceilings, original shutters and open fires which make for a cosy winter stay. Rowallan Guest House provides comfortable well equipped, first floor accommodation, with lovely views to enhance your stay.

Situated in a half an acre of lovely mature garden, Rowallan Guest House provides a residents lounge with bar, open fire and comfy sofa’s to relax after a hard days exploring the delights of Galloway. There is an elegant, bright and spacious dining room where you will be served a hearty breakfast or, if you choose to dine with us, a delicious evening meal. And for after dinner there is a snooker room which helps creates the perfect peaceful atmosphere for your holiday enjoyment.

At Rowallan Guest House we try at all times to abide by the international ethos of Green Tourism. We will always do our best to purchase our goods locally not only to reduce our food miles and carbon foot print but to support the local economy. We also try to save energy by using LED and Energy saving bulbs where possible and a gradual programme of changing over to A rated appliances.

No more than 150 yards away from Rowallan Guest House lies the Merrick Leisure Centre (with indoor heated swimming pool), the Newton Stewart Museum, library, bowling green and tennis club. Newton Stewart Golf Club lies no more than 1 mile from Rowallan Guest House. The town centre is a short 300 yard walk away.

The Galloway National Forest is within easy access from Rowallan Guest House and has been declared the first UK, Dark Sky Park, one of only four in the world.

We provide a secure cycle store and a spacious private car park.

For the comfort and convenience of our guests, our accommodation in Newton Stewart is Non Smoking throughout. We regret that we are unable to cater for children under the age of 16. We are also unable to accept any pets, Loulou is only resident in non B & B parts of the house.

We are happy to cater for packed lunches and picnics on request if you are out and about for the day.

Normal check in time is between 4.30 and 7.30pm if you require an earlier or later check in please don’t hesitate to give us a call and we will do our best to accommodate you if we can.

Breakfast is served between 8am and 9 am but if you need to be up and out early let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
