Newton Stewart, the Gateway to the Galloway Hills and the hub of South West Scotland, was founded on the west bank of the River Cree in the mid-17th Century by William Stewart to manufacture wool and goods using the river to power the mills. Today it is chiefly a market town and touring centre for the heart of Galloway and
South West Scotland and in particular Dumfries and Galloway is said to be an undiscovered holiday gem. From impressive mountains to forest walks, crystal clear lochs and sweeping coastline, here time seems to stand still.
Previously a boutique hotel Rowallan Guest House now offers friendly, intimate, bed and breakfast accommodation in Newton Stewart for holiday or longer stay visitors.
Retaining many of its original features, Rowallan Guest House provides comfortable well equipped, first floor accommodation, with lovely aspects to enhance your stay.
Situated in half an acre of lovely mature garden, Rowallan Guest House provides a residents lounge, (with a bar open from 6pm to 8pm for pre dinner drinks), a bright and spacious room for Dining Room and a snooker room (6′ table), which creates the perfect atmosphere for your holiday enjoyment.
